Greetings :)

How much time have you spent getting to know everything your phone is capable of? If you're like me, not much at all.

But this week, I decided to geek out on phone features. I've uncovered some very fun solutions to everyday annoyances that have been hiding right in front of us all along. Who knew?!

Here are five game-changers (at least, IMHO) that'll save you time and hassle:

1. Problem: Too much paperwork piling up everywhere

Solution: Scan documents to PDF without extra apps

Tired of downloading expensive scanner apps or hunting for your bulky scanner? Your iPhone has a built-in scanner - who knew?! In the "Files" app, tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select "Scan Documents." Now you can quickly digitise receipts, forms, and paperwork without the clutter.

2. Problem: Kids accidentally sending messages or calling random people from your phone

Solution: Lock specific apps with Face ID

If you've ever handed your phone to a child only to find they've sent a bizarre SMS to a client you haven't spoken to in years (obvs. not speaking from personal experience), this one's for you. Long-press on any app and select "Require Face ID" to protect it. Perfect for keeping little fingers away from your work apps, banking, or anything else you want to keep private.

3. Problem: Too many steps to do simple tasks

Solution: Back Tap shortcuts

Constantly opening the same apps or performing the same actions? Set up Back Tap to create instant shortcuts by simply tapping the back of your iPhone.

Go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap and assign actions to double or triple taps. I've set mine to take screenshots with a double-tap and open my calendar with a triple-tap – saves me multiple screen taps every time.

4. Problem: Awkwardly spelling out long Wi-Fi passwords to guests

Solution: One-tap Wi-Fi password sharing

No more shouting complicated passwords across the room. When someone needs your Wi-Fi, have them select your network in their Settings. A popup will appear on your iPhone asking if you want to share the password. One tap, and they're connected – no spelling required.

5. Problem: Constant notification distractions

Solution: Scheduled Notification Summary

Feeling overwhelmed by an endless stream of notifications? Set up a Notification Summary to batch less important alerts into scheduled digests.

Go to Settings → Notifications → Scheduled Summary and customise delivery times. Now you'll only be interrupted by what's truly urgent, while everything else waits for your designated review times.
