A few months ago, I wrote about the leadership mistakes I made in 2024. And boy, were they big. You'd think that as an organisational psychologist with nearly two decades running a business, I'd have it nailed by now. Sadly, no. The response to that post was huge. So many of you reached out saying "Thank you for being honest about this stuff." Which made me think: let's go deeper. So I sat down with my mate Sabina Read (fellow psychologist, but of the clinical variety) to properly unpack where I got leadership very, very wrong. We've just released the conversation on How I Work. Listen to it here on Apple, Spotify, or Snipd (my fave pod player). Leadership can feel lonely. And the endless humble brag posts on LinkedIn about all the amazing leaders who seemingly have it all figured out? They make it feel even lonelier when you're in the middle of royally f*&king things up. My hope is that today's episode makes you feel less alone if you, like me, lead people and sometimes get it spectacularly wrong. And perhaps give you some ideas on how to get things "right" more often. Listen to it here on Apple, Spotify, or Snipd (my fave pod player). (And please share this episode with a leader you know who needs to hear this right now). Hit follow/subscribe in your podcast app, because Part 2 drops next Thursday. Cheers Amantha P.S. Before I (actually) say goodbye, here are a few things happening at Inventium over the next few months in case you are interested: Would you like a discounted keynote presentation from me (and the chance to donate money to an awesome cause)? My 11-year-old daughter Frankie is doing Jump Rope for Heart, and after some brainstorming, we've come up with a fundraising idea that's a bit different. We're offering a special keynote presentation on habit change. I'll be sharing the science-backed strategies that actually work, while Frankie will add her own stories and insights (and trust me, she's got some good ones). Here's the deal: this keynote must be delivered before September 12th, ideally in Melbourne, and in-person. We're asking for a minimum donation of $3,000 to the Heart Foundation (which is 20% of my normal speaking fee. So: bargain. And: you get Frankie). If you're interested in having your team/company learn practical habit change strategies while supporting an awesome cause, nominate your company via this link before Friday August 1, COB. Plus, you'll get to tell people you hired an 11-year-old consultant, which is either very progressive or slightly concerning, depending on your perspective.
